Are you allowed to choose your religion?

Of course, everybody must be free to choose the right religion for himself. Some people think that Muslims are obligated to embrace Islam. This thought is completely wrong, and there is plenty of evidence. Islam is the religion of love, peace, and secure and its history proves how non-Muslims were treated. Allah ordered us to read his Quran and listen to Muhammed’s hadith to understand first then choose freely to be Muslim or not.

Surah Al-Baqarah: “There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion. The right course has become distinct from the wrong. So whoever disbelieves in ṭāghūt and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing. (256)”

We, Muslims believe that Islam is the right religion because we found that it is a complete guide for this life and the hereafter. But, you must know that in Islam we have the liberty to choose our religion. If you thought about it; the number of non-Muslims is more and this proves that nobody will force you to be Muslim. Islam is the best religion because it admits the humanity of both men and women. All have rights and duties besides criminalizing all bad deeds like stealing, murdering, bullying, and the violence generally.

Which is the right religion in the world?

The right religion is that helps you to be closer to your creator. It must make you at least near to your best version. Don’t care a lot about its name, just look for the religion which makes your behavior is right in front of yourself, your family, in the work, and with the others. Also, I must remind you that your deeds have a reflection on your life; if you act good, you will receive good and vice versa. If we need certain points, here are four main points:

  • Must be Monotheistic:

Islam covers this point very clearly because it asked us to believe that there is only one God and called Allah. Allah has no wife, no son, and no partner; this is called Tawheed.

Surah Al-Ikhlas: “Say, He is Allah, [who is] One (1) Allah, the Eternal Refuge (2) He neither begets nor is born (3) Nor is there to Him any equivalent (4)”

  • Must be open to all people to convert:

It is very normal and expected that God will never make his religion close to some specific people. Everyone has a chance to choose a religion regardless of his language and personality. Islam is a worldwide message; it fits all people, places, and times. Allah created it in a comprehensive form to be easy for all of us.

Surah Al-Qalam: “But it is not except a reminder to the worlds (52)”

  • Must have a source of unchanged revelation from God:

If are connecting with somebody through texts only, you need a grantee for that those words to come from him only. Islam offers us the most unchanged holy book in the world; the Quran. We have many old manuscripts that prove the Quran is the same since the revealing date.

Surah Al-Hijr: “Indeed, it is We who sent down the message [i.e., the Qur’ān], and indeed, We will be its guardian (9)”

  • Must be brought by a true messenger of God:

Simply, to believe in something, means you trust the person delivering it to you. The prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was a kind, generous, fair, intelligent, honest, patient, and infallible person.

Surah Al-Isra: “And with the truth, We have sent it [i.e., the Qur’ān] down, and with the truth, it has descended. And We have not sent you, [O Muḥammad], except as a bringer of good tidings and a warner (105)”

Which religion is growing fastest?

Islam is the world’s second-largest religion, after Christianity. But this could change if the current demographic trends continue, according to research published by the US-based Pew Research Center.

According to recent researches, the global Muslim population increased at an average annual rate of 2.2%. By 2030 Muslims are projected to represent about 26.4% of the global population (out of a total of 7.9 billion people). Islam is the only religion that offers you many answers to this question (Why Islam?). Allah has explained all the basic fundamentals of this religion. This is the only religion that allows you to ask about the creation of the universe and guess what, the answers exist.

Islam is very easy to understand, no matter what’s your native language. Our amazing religion considers a message to the universe. It never attacks other religions, it asks to study Islam then compare and choose. Islam is very tolerated with the non-Muslim people because Allah ordered us to treat each other with mercy, Women have a special status in Islam concerning all aspects of life such as marriage and motherhood. Allah indicated all the rights of women in his Holy Quran to be applied easily.

Who started Islam?

Our beloved prophet Muhammed (PBUH) was born in Mecca. He was well known for his justice, kindness, good morals, patience, and much more. He used to go to a cave called Hiraa’ to meditate and think about the creator of the world. Prophet Muhammed was prepared to be the greatest man ever secretly by Allah.

One day while his usual prayer, especially on Monday, the 21st of Ramadan (August 10, 610C.E.). The angel Jibril (Gabriel) appeared to Muhammed in the cave and ask him to “read”. Our prophet was illiterate so he told the angel that he can’t, but the angel insisted on him and repeated the word three times. Eventually, Jibril recited “Read, ˹O Prophet,˺ in the Name of your Lord Who created” Surah Al-Alaq. This was the first revelation and the first verse; I think it is a hidden message for us to care about studying and reading to get a better future.
